Now Novices and Power-Users alike can beat those System Error blues!
In 1984, Macintosh, the ╥appliance for the rest of us ╘ was born. With it came a new breed of software that would make the rest of our lives easier too... Except when it went wrong! Ever since that time, the System Error dialog has remained virtually unchanged in its uncompromising message of doom. When you saw it you knew everything since you last saved was gone!... Until now!
Ñ System Error Recovery
Crash Barrier replaces the normal System Error message with a friendly dialog. If your Mac crashes, Crash Barrier pops up and gives you a chance of recovering from the error. In many cases, it is able to let you continue as if nothing had happened. At other times, it may let you bandage you machine and get it back on its feet.
With Crash Barrier, you can often run versions of software that normally would freeze or bring up systems errors performing a particular function or when used in a particular environment ( e.g. System 7.0 or a favourite INIT/cdev combination). You can also squash many of those occasional random Systems error and freezes that conspire to drive you insane.
Ñ System Error Prevention
Many crashes on the Macintosh are caused by a misuse of what is known as ╥System Memory╙. Crash Barrier lets you compensate for such problems from within the Control Panel, Thus reducing the chances of your Mac crashing in the first place.
